5 squares composition

        For the 5 squares composition, we were assigned to create a collage using magazine pictures. This was used to show different aspects of art including positive and negative space, focal point, variety of direction, ect. We were supposed to use a library card, cut out the magazine pictures, and then glue the pictures onto the library card, focusing on one of the aspects of art. Now, I kind of disobeyed the rules by putting a full color picture as the background of the card, instead of just the card. But I must say that my collage pieces came out very well and I think I made the the right choice.

        For my collage pieces, I used pictures that somewhat related to me to start off with. I found pictures that I liked, had interest in, or related to. then, once I had those pictures, I would look at the collage piece that i was making and ask myself what kind of picture I would need to make the big picture look better. Afterwards we used wax to make a cotting over each square. I really like all of my collage blocks, i think that even though I kind of cheated on the design, i made the choice for the better and in the end the pieces turned out really well.
